Global Exchange, Ventura County Supporters, are pleased to present a talk by Kazem Alamdari, Ph.D., California State University Northridge and Visiting Scholar at UCLA. This presentation will examine the changes in the power structure in Iran, beginning with the Ayatollah Khomeini, as an obstacle to U.S.-Iranian reconciliation. Kazem Alamdari received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and his B. S. in Psychology from the University of Tehran. He has taught at various universities, including UCLA, Cal State University Los Angeles, and Cal State University Northridge. Currently he is a visiting scholar at the Department of Sociology, UCLA. Alamdari has published four books and numerous articles in English and Persian. He has presented lectures at national and international conferences in the United States, the former Soviet Union, Canada, Germany, Turkey, China, Japan and Brazil. A question and answer period will follow this presentation.
